Milk Jug with Pine Cone and Seed Head - April 2020
A still life study in acrylics and oils on canvas board. 40cm x 30cm. I have juxtaposed three simple objects; one man made and smooth and the others from the natural world and textural.
This is an acrylics and oils study of a periwinkle from my garden on canvas board. Approximately 40cm x 30cm. Painted directly from life in April 2020.
Dandelion in Glass Jar with Pine Cone - April 2020
A small oil and acrylic study (40cm x 30cm) on board continuing the theme of still life, during the Covid19 lock-down, of a dandelion in a glass jar with a tiny, slender pine cone next to it. SOLD
This is my latest painting on my theme of still-life. It is my Ginseng plant, painted in acrylics and oils on board. Its about 40cm x 33cm. I've tried to capture the play of light on the leaves the the graceful curve of the plant's structure. Hope you like it :)
A tiny painting (30cm x 23cm). Acrylics and oils on stretched canvas. I was given the theme of 'time'. Just a few short months ago we would never have believed how our society would have been ravaged by the virus, and our lives changed so markedly, hopefully for a short time only. Here is my painting of my poinsettia, which was vibrant and full of life just after Christmas, and has now changed forever.
This is my second painting of the 'lock down'. It continues the theme of still-life and is painted in acrylics and oils. Its a little one, only about 40cm x 30cm. Really pleased with the reflections.
A beautiful white orchid I found, painted in acrylics and oils on canvas board. (20" x 16"). Really pleased with the light and the surfaces of the flowers.
This is my second painting of tulips and I've painted it in quite a different way from the first one. This is underpainted in acrylics and then overpainted in oils. The oil paint allows me to blend the tones into each other more gently and to bring out the strength of the colours and the luminosity of these beautiful flowers. Hope you like it. Not for Sale.
Bought these beautiful tulips from the supermarket and I have tried to capture the sheer impact of their vibrant colours and the energy of their shapes in the vase. Its in acrylics on canvas board (50cm x 40cm). Really pleased with it.
